To mark the transfer of the ARCHIZINES collection of international architecture fanzines, magazines and journals to the National Art Library, ARCHIZINES founder Elias Redstone hosts a conversation about the role independent publishing plays in celebrating overlooked and underappreciated spaces in our cities. With Tom Keeley (America Deserta Revisted), Adam Murray (Preston is my Paris) and Hazem Tagiuri (City as Material). Introduction by Elizabeth James, Senior Librarian, National Art Library Collections.

BE PART OF A LIVE BRIGHTON ARCHIVE AT PHOENIX BRIGHTON

Every Friday and Saturday throughout the Open '11 exhibition.

Preston is my Paris and Brighton Photo Fringe Open '11 invite you to contribute to a new Brighton archive project, entitled FIND.
 

There are no restrictions on what you submit, it could be photographs both analogue and digital, printed matter, written items, or objects, anything that you feel has some relevance to Brighton.
 

Items will be scanned, photographed or downloaded whilst you wait. Then they will be added to a digital archive and a printed image will be hung in the gallery project space.

 

We will also be accepting submissions by e mail that can be sent to prestonismyparis@googlemail.com

 

The FIND archive project will culminate in a live publishing event. The accumulated material will be selected and edited into a series of four limited edition 'zine-style' publications.

ARCHIZINES Exhibition at Architectural Association

Just got back from a preview of the ARCHIZINES exhibition at the Architectural Association.

Curated by Elias Redstone, the exhibition is a wonderful display of the wealth of new independent publishing that deals with architecture and the build environment.  

Well worth a look and the private view is tonight from 6.30-8.30, all welcome
